Changing of the Guard

So, Don how have you been lately? It’s been a while since we talked.

Busy, Sim God.  Very busy.  There have been more birthdays and more everything going on.  

That was very nice of you, Don. It looks like a lot of fun.

It was a lot of fun.  We had music, hired a caterer and a bartender, and everyone was dancing and eating and had a great time. 

What did Dina say?

She said yes.  Really surprised about that, considering I give her a lot of money in child support, but she said yes all the same.   

And how is it going with them living in the house?

Well… 

Uhoh?

Both boys are smart as whips, but Dina didn’t make them apply themselves.  C grades in school, but Cliff knows enough computers to be dangerous.  

How do you know that?

His first night in our house, he hacked his grades to get a B.  

Oh.  I see.

Yeah.  I had to talk to him about it, because that’s not ethical or honest.  And he’s smart, so he shouldn’t need it. 

No, he shouldn’t need to do that sort of thing.

That is a very nice picture of Catarina, too. Although, I think she’s gotten a little bit chunky over the years?

*shrugs*   She’s had three kids, Sim God.  And works in the food industry.  To me, she is still beautiful.   

Aww… that is very sweet, Don!  I didn’t know you had it in you!

I know, me neither.  I used to be all about the hot babes, but I’ll tell you the truth, Sim God, Catarina and I have been through a lot together and she is the mother of my children.  Some of my children.   She is beautiful to me.  They are all beautiful to me.  

Again… aww…

Also, she tries, you know?  She loves to go swimming with me in the backyard, and that’s good exercise.   But she doesn’t like the gym much.  

How do you know that?

There’s a new one here in Brindleton Bay.  We went to check it out a couple of times.  I love it, but it’s not ‘for’ Catarina.

I know.  He’s a young adult now.  

That means that so are Cliff and Wesley.  They’re older than he is.

By a little yeah.  He and Wesley moved out of the house together, they have a place in Willow Creek, I think.

Not really.  It’s hard to keep track of where they are all living right now.

You had too many kids, Don.

Gee, you think?  And hey, I’m pregnant again, and you didn’t take pictures of it.  Again.

I was shocked.  Can you blame me?

I guess not.  Catarina had just had her birthday, the boys moved out, and I had one day left until I joined my wife in our elder years. And then oooo-oo-ooo  just like on Dr. Who.  

LOL.  Dr. Who, Don?

Yeah, I like that show.  

Me, too.

But the abduction left me pregnant with another little girl, and now I don’t get to be the same age as Catarina for a while.  Not until the after the baby is born.  It kind of sucks.  

Yes, it kind of does, Don. I am very sorry.

Now, about the title of this blog post…

About that, yeah.  

Cliff is a young adult and officially won the heir poll.  He’s old enough to start leaving his mark on the work.  So from now on, we’re going to be focusing mostly on him.  You’ll still have your garden and your books, and hopefully only this one last alien baby.

Is this “retirement”?
