With the Dollhouse Mystery solved, our Joneses returned to their regularly scheduled lives…

Brynn buries herself in what she considers to be her life’s passion… becoming a bestselling author. She’s already written a couple of children’s books, which she reads to her sister and brothers often.
Now, however, she wants to do something more ambitious. She wants to write about her family. A chronicle of her father’s life. She begins immediately.
Dan, for his part, has started to feel his age. Gardening tires him. So does his running around looking for collectibles and frogs. He pulls back from it to spend some time with his children. They seem to growing up without him, almost.
Quite literally, it seems, because in the blink of an eye, both Brynn and her sister Aubrie are having birthdays.
Brynn celebrates hers and becomes a young adult. No longer a teenager, not quite ready to leave the nest yet, either.
Aubrie is now a teenager, beautiful with her mother’s red hair.
Aubrie and Brynn take to the the gardens, as does Arielle when she has time. They can see how the years of hard work have taken a toll on poor Dan.
Indeed, all of the family is worried about their sire. He moans and groans more about aches and pains. They kids all rally around him, each understanding that every moment could easily be his last.
Especially when things start getting for their ‘old man.’
He grows tired more easily. His bladder begins to fail him where it never did before.
Dan feels so weary. Every day now is struggle just to keep up with the day to day stuff. Even a relaxing bubble bath fails to perk him up.
He’s just tired.
As he is preparing for bed one night, he is struck by a lightning pain in his chest. It drives him to his knees, unable to stand up. Barely able to breathe, he calls out for his family. Each name, one by one, but no one seems to come. The light begins to fade…
Aubrie hears her father’s voice, following it across the hall. She finds him collapsed on the floor. She cries out for her siblings and is soon joined by the boys, Evan and Cade.
Their sobs and tears fall on deaf ears. The Reaper, in all his glory, comes at last, for Dan Jones.
R.I.P Dan. 🙁
Simmer’s Notes: I don’t know if this is normal, but Dan’s death was glitched. The Reaper stood there for many, many hours not moving and not collecting him. I had to cheat to resent Dan. It was very sad and frustrating.
