Looks like it’s time for another installment of Keeping up With the Joneses...
It wasn’t long after the Jones twins became young adults that Brynn sat down with her siblings and her father’s lawyer, and they all listened as old Mr. Pancakes read their father’s last will and testament.
Dan, being of sound mind and body, had decided to leave his home and land to one of his children. The others were each given a portion of whatever wealth he and Arielle had accumulated over the years, and would be free to do as they pleased.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Mr. Pancakes then named Evan as their father’s heir.
The siblings decide together, that for now, they will all remain in the home, until Evan is ready to start a family of their own. It will give them each time to decide what their next steps will be.
The future is out there. For each of them.
While his siblings are pursuing their own things, Evan has ventured into the world of dating.
He is, a bit intimidated, at first. Unsure how to dress for the clubs and bars, and most definitely unsure of how to talk to women, he mostly spent his first night out on the town sitting at the bar, feeling awkward.
It’s almost by pure luck that he runs into an old friend from high school. Cameron was always someone he could talk to and he asks her to join him at his table. They talk, laugh and it’s surprisingly not lame. 
His tentative attempts at romance, however, are still pretty awkward. There isn’t much chemistry for him and Cameron, and they soon realize it’s best if they just stay friends.
Seeing how dejected he is with his first (failed) attempt at love, his sisters set him up one of their friends, a girl named Brenna. Brenna is a little older than Evan, but nice and it really seemed like they hit it off.
Seriously, because he’s exuding so much confidence about himself now, too!
However, it isn’t meant to be. Not long after their second date, Brenna’s father dies of a heart attack, and she returns to Riverview (where she is from) to help her mom and brother through their rough time.
A few weeks later, she calls him, emotional, and tells him that she doesn’t know when she’s coming back and maybe they should just hold off on furthering things.
“I really liked you, Evan,” she tells him. “But I can’t commit right now, and that’s not fair to you.”
It’s not and it hurts Evan for a long time.
When he finally “climbs back on that bicycle,’ it’s on a blind date someone named Harley Brinkley. Harley is a bit older than him (and Brenna), but nice and it’s soon very apparent that they have chemistry together.
They go on several more dates and Evan begins to realize that he truly might love her. He wonders, however, if she could be the one he could be happy with for the rest of his life.
And he always wonders… if he and Harley take any ‘next steps’ what will become of his siblings. Will they move out, as Brynn has suggested? Could he handle living on his own? He never has before. It’s a big decision and one he wrestles with all the time. It is the reason he jogs so much now.
Finally, he makes a command decision and asks her to move in with him.
Now comes the hard part… telling his sibs that she accepted.
