I called Dad on the phone today, and he came by to give me a few pointers on collecting samples from the water and fish we’ve been catching.
He made sure I knew to document all the different types of fish, plants, and mineral samples I came across. It would be important in the research. He should know, being an expert in the field now. Published, at last, too.
Dad left me with a ‘house warming gift’ too. Or … tent warming. A cauldron like the one I trained on as a teenager. He said it was so I could continue to learn my spellcraft and potions, but also… I could cook basic foods, too. While I was still earning my wages and needing supplies, a good hot meal every now and again would be very welcome!

When Dad was here, we also discussed things with Easton. He said that he’d been having dreams about me and family, and knew that my instincts were leading me in the right direction.
He told me to follow my heart…
Which lead me and Easton to our official date. I mean, we’ve hung out a lot recently, but not a real date. It was romantic. And it led to our first kiss, too.
A kiss that left butterflies in my stomach.

It’s not that I hate the rain, because rain helps to make things grow, but the storms are getting to be a bit much. It rains all the time now.

I really need a house of my own. But I don’t have enough funds to even get started.
Despite the rain, or maybe because of it — Easton and I took a leap of faith and eloped.
