Today on Keeping Up with the Jones…
Arielle is just getting used to the idea that Brynn is in school now, only to discover that she is pregnant once again. Despite the confetti, she is not as thrilled about it as she was the first time around. She’s picked up some baby weight and there’s this inherent fear that it won’t ever go away.
Which really means she should be exercising, not painting and reading at the same time. But painting keeps her spirits high while she’s trying to unwind from a hard day at work.
When she’s not painting, she’s baking up a storm because a) it’s her job and b) her favorite thing to do and c) pregnancy drains your hunger BIG TIME!
Dan, in the meantime, is doing what he always does… working on his garden. He’s much happier now that he’s quit his job at the restuarant to farm full time. He gets to work with plants…
… and see his daughter grow into, as his mother would have said, “one smart cookie.”
This also means that he’s at home when Arielle goes into labor with the next Jones baby… another little girl named Aubrie.
Brynn is non-plussed by the thought of a little sister. She’s totally focused on school and is about 3 points away from maxing out her logic/mental skills when this happens… and it takes quite a while for Dan to realize that no help is coming and he must put it out all by himself while his wife and daughter stand by helplessly panicking.
The fire puts an end to her advancement on the Whiz Kid asperation track… by the time it’s put out, they’re all too tired to do anything else but crawl into bed. Except for Arielle, who must tend to a fussy baby.
By the end of the weekend, both Aubrie and Brynn have had birthdays.
Aubrie’s because… babies suck … and Brynn because I was so busy messing with Aubrie that I missed it entirely. But here’s post-makeover pictures of both of them.

The girls get a computer and an art table for their birthdays, and both of them can’t resist the urge to try them out. Brynn searches for penpals in cyber space, and decides to try her hand at writing a children’s novel

The best part was, whenever Dan walked in to check on them, they were chatting and laughing and listening to music… together.
Family life was the best ever!
And boy! Are we glad he thinks so, because yeah… this happened…

A Simmer’s Note: I lost a playing session when the game didn’t save like I thought it did. 4 hours of game-play down the tubes. In the effort to get it all back, I sort of forgot to take pictures. So… no baby Aubrie… and Brynn had a birthday party the 1st go-round, but it was a total flop. Nothing, no medals, no gift, nothing.
Besides that, on a complaining note, kids can’t plan events, but the adults can’t invite people they don’t know. So all the friends I had Brynn make at the park (also in the lost game data)…could not be invited. Totally sucks!
A reminder that our succession law is Equality – Modern – Living Will… so it’s whomever has the highest relationship score with Dan that gets it.
As of the writing of this post, that’s Brynn, but just barely by a smidge.
