Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
(Turn and face the strange)
Ch-ch-changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can’t trace time
Issac’s death was the first of many changes in the Catchick household. Not all of them were for the good.
First, there’s poor Allie…
… struggling to make it as a single mother, raising her children, working fully time while struggling with health problems stemming from her cancer. Lately, she’s been burning both ends of the candle, taking side jobs helping people with messed up laptops, tables and cell phones to supplement their income. All the while, she wishes that Issac’s ghost will return to keep her company.
The kids are growing up, mostly on their own at this point. Allie is off in her own little world most days, and doesn’t really notice what they do. Their grades are mediocre at best.
In the middle of it all, Issac’s ghost returns. Allie begs him/it to stay with her, and he does. (Issac is a playable ghost now. )
The transition is rough, having Issac around again, and into the middle of it, Bradley becomes a teenager. He hooks up with a group of friends at school who hang at Newcrest’s new teen park. There they play video games, dance, swim and have bonfires. Why wasn’t this a thing when Beezus was a teen?
Anyway… Event #6 was to ‘change everyone’s aspirations.’
I rolled them all again:
Allie – Deviance: Chief of Mischief
Issac – Love: Soulmate
Bradley – Deviance: Public Enemy
Brenna – Family: Successful Lineage
A reminder that a previous Event Roll left Brenna the heir, as the youngest.
