Last time on Keeping Up With the Joneses… Dan asked his friend, Arielle Poindexter to move in with him, and they used some of her savings to build a modest pre-fabbed house.
This time finds the refrigerator in the new house having a bit of a fit.
It’s sparking and smoking and in general, just does not look safe. neither does that water puddle off to the left. On the floor. Nor does that screwdriver Arielle is trying to fix it with.
It’s a wonder that she doesn’t get french fried… but she doesn’t.
While all this is going on, Dan is out in his garden, doing some much needed tending. He has worries about it, because he always seems to be working at the restaurant, when he really wants to be working on his garden. How can he be a free-lance botanist if he’s still an assistant dishwasher?
Arielle, who really and truly is the chef in the family, has been spending time perfecting her skills… why, you ask? Because she’s been busy planning for the Big Day.
It was a small wedding, because she and Dan really don’t have a lot of friends, and there is no wedding venue in either Willow Creek or Oasis Springs. But they reserve the park in Willow Creek, and all their guests showed up.
After some conversation and set up, their guests watched them exchange vows… rings…
… and kiss for the first time as husband and wife.
(I recommend moving the spouse in before the wedding, peeps. After they say their vows, the game wants to Move In the spouse and it automatically ends the wedding event. But if they are already moved in, it skips that, and you can go forward with cake and stuff. like a real wedding.
I also recommend building or downloading a proper wedding venue. The Even scenario wants you to hire a caterer and mixologist and there’s no place in the worlds to use them. As it happens, the Gallery is full of nice ones.)
So… just what do newlywed Sims do after their wedding reception? That’s right, folks! Push ups. In your wedding dress! (I love this game, I really do!)
Okay, now THAT’s more like it! Dan wastes no time in romancing his new bride, even though they’ve been living together for a while now.
Soon after… Arielle is doing an interesting shuffle-step to the bathroom.
A pregnancy test confirms… Arielle is pregnant with the first of Gen 2. She looks stoked at the news!
(The pregnancy test is my new favorite interaction. This is awesome!)
(I take that back… the wide range of “sitting on the bed” interactions are my new favs. I love how the Sims 4 has brought in so many ways for Sims to spend quality time with each other!)
Which is exactly what this is… quality time. They eat, read, chat… it’s beautiful!
And Dan spends more time worrying about his garden. It looks like it’s going to die out before he can reach a decision… pursue his life long dream or keep a steady, albeit low-paying job to support his family.
Which, as we all know, is about to get a little bit bigger.
